Tutoring Regulations at FGGS
- Tutoring is conducted by staff members of the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań who hold a Tutor Certificate.
- A tutor may supervise a maximum of two students in a given academic year.
- Tutoring is carried out in the amount of 6 hours per student, or 12 hours in the case of two students, in the form of individual meetings and is tailored to the student’s interests.
- Recruitment to the programme is conducted by the FGGS Council of Tutors at AMU on the basis of a student’s letter of motivation, which should include information about their interests in the field of natural sciences and their motivation for joining the programme. A consultation between the tutor and the candidate may take place. Detailed recruitment procedures are specified in the Rules for Admission to the FGGS Tutoring Programme.
- The topic of tutoring is selected during individual meetings between students and tutors.
- No later than the second meeting, the student and the tutor sign a tutoring agreement defining the rules of cooperation. The details of the agreement are established by the tutor in consultation with the student.
- Tutoring is completed once the arrangements defined in the tutoring agreement have been fulfilled and a positive evaluation has been issued by the tutor.
- Upon the student’s request, information about the completed tutoring will be included in the Diploma Supplement.
- Completed tutoring will be confirmed by a certificate issued by the Chair of the FGGS Council of Tutors.
- Any matters not regulated by these provisions shall be resolved by the Council of Tutors.
