Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań is one of the top universities in Poland. Built on strong academic traditions and the achievements of its scholars, the University advances knowledge through high-quality research and teaching, developed in collaboration with international partners, industry, and public institutions.
At the Morasko campus, our Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences offers a truly unique scientific environment. Collegium Geographicum and Collegium Geologicum are located next to the remarkable Morasko Meteorite Reserve, where massive iron meteorites were discovered—evidence of the largest known iron meteorite shower in Europe. It is a place where science, history, and nature meet.
Our research and teaching explore the Earth from many perspectives—from the dynamics of natural systems to the impact of human activity on landscapes and ecosystems. The strength of our Faculty is reflected in international collaborations, the scientific journals we publish, and the international conferences we organize.
Our research reaches far beyond Poland. The Adam Mickiewicz University Polar Station (AMUPS) in Svalbard, located at the end of Billefjord in picturesque Petunia Bay—just 1300 km from the North Pole—provides exceptional opportunities for Arctic research and fieldwork in one of the fastest-changing environments on the planet.
